  1. Greetings from Idaho! I’m bored to tears at work so I decided to browse your website
on my iphone during lunch break. I love the information you provide here and can’t wait to take
a look when I get home. I’m surprised at how fast your blog loaded on my mobile ..

I’m not even using WIFI, just 3G .. Anyhow, amazing site!

  2. haha windows sucks its their patches that broke windows installer and they cant even fix it what morons

  3. I have an issue where Windows Installer pops up whenever I run an old VB6 program. I can cancel it, but it takes literally over 30 minutes to close the installer popup before my program is then allowed to run. After pressing cancel and waiting it eventually gives an error “Windows Install Server Not Responding”, but that then allows the VB6 program to continue.

Looking at the administration logs, MSIExec is showing two errors (1001, 1004) trying to access a component from a different program (Sage Line 50). The component is MSCOMCTL, a system file.

Totally confused as to what to do. I cannot remove the registry entry that matches the component ID as that stops the Sage program functioning properly. Is there any way to reduce the timeout on the Windows Installer?

    Windows 10 (v1703)

    1. You should try to do windows update to fix this issue. Also try to install latest “Dot Net framework” package. Also update your flash player if helps.

    My System configuration is
Windows 10(64 bits) with IIS 10 and also Windows Server 2012 R2 (64 bits) with IIS 8.

I want to implement my installer in such way that, it don’t have any dependencies on lower versions than IIS 8.

Can you please help me ASAP??

    1. Yes I tried above mentioed methods. When I add/install “IIS 6 Management Comaptibility” from “Add and Removes Features” then issue gets resolved. But my requirnment is to remove dependencies of “IIS 6 Management Comaptibility”. Following are Verbose log.

    1. It is a Microsoft issue, so you have to run even Microsoft Fixit tools which is given above on this article.

  6. yahooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo……………………………….It Works…..Thanksssssssssss

  7. David McFarland

MSI Repair Tool worked after hours of conventional command prompting and other repair methods, system reboots and whatnot did not work.

Thank you. I only wish every other tech support website and Microsoft had the repair tool download posted. I really appreciate everyone running this site.
    You guys rock.

  8. Hi,
I wanted to use Expression Builder in Access 2010. I have Vista Home Premium 64 bit. I tried to install the feature, but get this, “Microsoft Access can’t start this wizard.
Microsoft Access cannot install the necessary files due to Windows Installer Error 90.”

What do I need to do?

  9. It won’t allow me to run the file due to failure of side by side configuration which is a result of the corrupt visual C++ redistribution. Which is a problem since it sends me in a circle.

  10. URGENT : WGKUSB120N…….INSTILLATION DISC NEEDED….
    USING WUSB100 (2)…..PLEASE HELP….

  11. This helped me a lot.. thanks for sharing this tool.. In my case Windows Installer Service was not there but MSIexec was there in directory..
