the default cursor for me looks like this
while when other people use the default cursor option , they get this cursor
there is clearly a difference between the two cursors , i’d like mine to be like the past one.

Go to control panel >> Appearance & Personalization >> Personalization, then click on “Change mouse pointer” from right left side pane. You’ll get a popup where have mouse pointer settings. Here you can easily change the mouse pointer. You can click on “use default” get the default settings. See the following screenshot.
